Who built the Dilwara temples at Mount Abu and when?

The Dilwara temple complex on Mount Abu, a major Jain pilgrimage site, was constructed over several centuries by multiple Jain patrons. The earliest and most prominent temple, Vimal Vasahi, was built in 1031 CE by Vimal Shah, a minister of the Solanki (Chaulukya) dynasty, dedicated to Rishabhanatha (Adinatha), the first Tirthankara. This temple marks the beginning of the Dilwara group and is renowned for its intricate marble work.

About two centuries later, the brothers Vastupala and Tejpal, who served as ministers in the Vaghela dynasty, built the Luna Vasahi temple around 1230-1231 CE. This temple is dedicated to Neminatha, the 22nd Tirthankara, and is celebrated for its exquisite architectural and sculptural details. Besides these two major temples, other temples in the complex include the Pittalhar temple built by Bhima Shah, the Parshvanatha temple (Khartar Vasahi) constructed around 1458-1459 CE, and the Mahavira Swami temple from 1582 CE.
