Who wrote Navkar mantra

The Navkar Mantra, also known as the Namokar Mantra, is one of the most fundamental and ancient prayers in Jainism. It is not credited to a specific author in Jain scriptures but is considered a primordial mantra that encapsulates the essence of Jain ethical and spiritual teachings. According to Jain tradition, Lord Mahavira, the 24th Tirthankara, who lived around 2600 years ago, emphasized the importance of spiritual purity and the eradication of sins, as indicated in the Uttarādhyayanasūtra where he instructs Gautam Gandhar to be vigilant in wiping off sins.
