Explain Jainism in the simplest way

Jainism is both a religion and one of the nine main systems of Indian philosophy. It is the path practiced by Jains, followers of the Jina—those who have conquered their lower nature, including passions and hatred, to achieve the highest spiritual realization. Unlike some religions that focus heavily on rites and ceremonies, Jainism maintains a balanced approach where emotional, intellectual, and practical aspects coexist proportionately. This inner perfection distinguishes Jainism from many other religions, especially Semitic ones like Christianity, where ritualistic practices often dominate.
